One workplace. Many ways to belong.
Consolidating three Klang Valley offices into a shared workplace at the former Coca-Cola site in Shah Alam.
Consolidate offices while supporting hybrid work and a shared F&N identity.
A choice of settings organised around joy, hybrid working, flexibility and excitement.
F&N’s One Office initiative consolidated three Klang Valley offices at the former Coca-Cola production site in Shah Alam. The ambition extended beyond a change of address: the workplace needed to connect departments, accommodate hybrid working and express a shared identity.
DMZ’s proposal framed the workplace around four design pillars: joy, hybrid working, flexibility and excitement. These principles guided the atmosphere and the mix of spaces, balancing operational needs with the different ways people gather, focus and exchange ideas.
Light, colour and open social settings establish a welcoming atmosphere. Heritage references connect the interior to F&N’s history, while café spaces and informal meeting areas add variety to the working day. The intent is to give the office a recognisable personality and places where colleagues can connect.
Private phone booths support virtual calls, while enclosed booths provide settings for smaller discussions. Meeting rooms, collaborative zones, lounges and pantry areas offer different degrees of privacy and interaction. These choices allow the workplace to accommodate both concentration and shared activity.
A demonstration kitchen, gym and fitness room, informal lounges and prayer facilities broaden the activities supported by the headquarters. Their inclusion places everyday needs alongside the workspaces, contributing to a more varied workplace experience.
Repurposed F&N beverage bottles form a meeting-room sign. Rotating the bottles reveals “Vacant” or “In-Use”. This simple interaction connects wayfinding, reuse and brand memory at a scale people encounter throughout the day.

The Edition 2 construction plan identifies individual phone booths, four-person pods, pantry storage and adjacent building services. These elements bring private calls, small-group work and refreshment into the same workplace programme.
Repurposed F&N beverage bottles form a manual meeting-room availability sign. Rotating the bottles changes the message between Vacant and In-Use, turning a familiar product into a useful interface.
The profile records touchless entrance and lift controls, antibacterial work surfaces and robotic duct-cleaning provisions. These form part of the workplace’s hygiene strategy; no measured health or productivity outcome is asserted.
