Upholstery specification
The originally selected houndstooth fabric was unsuitable for high-traffic dining. UV printing reproduced the pattern on PVC upholstery to retain its appearance with a surface better suited to daily wear and maintenance.

Architectural fragments, a restrained material palette and tested graphic details suited to daily use.
Gates, sliding doors, ribbed glass and grilles draw on references from Malaysia, Hong Kong, Southern China and Thailand. Concrete, timber, steel, glass and terrazzo give those memories a contemporary setting.
When the intended houndstooth fabric proved unsuitable for heavy-duty restaurant use, the pattern was UV-printed on PVC upholstery. The visual idea remained while the specification responded to daily operations.
Watercolour artwork by a local Malaysian artist was UV-printed onto zigzag timber. Paper mock-ups helped test how the image would be read from different angles before the detail was resolved.
The elongated double-frontage unit, existing columns, mall services and pandemic-era sourcing and workforce constraints informed the coordination of the interior.

A Malaysian artist’s watercolour was digitally reproduced across a zigzag timber wall. A paper mock-up tested alignment and visual continuity over the folded surfaces before production.
Concrete, timber, steel, glass and terrazzo form the restrained base palette. Custom metallic rose-gold coating links the metal components; ribbed glass and grille details reinterpret traditional Asian shopfronts.
Existing columns, the long double frontage, mall requirements and mechanical-service limitations shaped seating and circulation. Pandemic restrictions added material-sourcing and workforce coordination challenges.
